I have always been a big fan of WW2 warbirds. My favorite WW2 warbird is F4U corsair. Making a F4U seemed to be a lot of work. Not to mention the complexity involved in making the bent wing. So, I decided to try out my next favorite one, the Ki-100. This one is the last samurai of the Japanese Imperial Army and it closely resembles the Japanese Naval fighter, A6M Zero. I did not have detailed plans for the Ki-100 except for the 3 view image got from the internet. I scaled the 3 view image so that I could use my old OS 46 FX as the power plant. The model is made out of 3mm coro and it weighted about 2.5Kg. This model is an excellent flyer. However, the 46FX engine was very old and it always deadsticked after a few minutes on air. I may replace the engine with a 55AX, but that will not happen in near future. Here are a few picture of the Ki-100 that I built.
Here is a short video of the Ki-100 in flight. At the end of the video, the model deadsticked!!
