The Workhorse
Home Up

The Workhorse is the second coro plastic model that I made. The wing is reused from my first aircraft which was crashed beyond repair. This is the oldest (about 5 years) model in my hangar and it is still airworthy. The fuselage is made out of 5mm coro while the wing is made out of a combination of 5mm and 3mm coro (RNAF style wing).  The All-Up-Weight (AUW) of the model is about 3Kg and it is an excellent sport aircraft. It can handle most of the aerobatic maneuvers with ease. Further, the model is very sturdy and has survived may hard landings. The engine is a super tiger 0.60 (Pro series). I have flown this model more than 100 flights and it still goes on and on.

Once the fuselage internal structure failed while the model was flying. The model did not show any sign of that failure and I kept flying as normal. Finally, I noticed the failure only after landing the model. I was amazed by the durability of this model. The outer coro covering has held up the fuselage in one piece for all the tough maneuvers that I have been doing... Simply amazing.. For that day I have been calling this model as "THE WORKHORSE".

Here are some picture of the workhorse.

Here is a video of this model flying. Note the Doppler effect as the model flew past the camera.
