Every time I saw a pattern aircraft flying in our field, I wanted to have one for myself. Then, sometime later, I saw a pattern aircraft named Black Magic V2. This aircraft has preformed very well and has won FAI pattern championships for consecutive 3 years. Well, I did not have an intention of competing in a world championship, but I loved the looks and the way it flew. It was like an arrow streaking the sky exactly at the direction the pilot pointed it at. So, obviously, my next project would be to spadify a Black Magic V2. I did not have detailed plans for the original Black Magic. So, I got to the manufacturer's website - customairframes.com - and downloaded few pictures of the aircraft from their gallery. That was enough as the pictures showed the profiles of the aircraft. I then scaled the pictures accordingly and came up with my own plan for the build. Since, it is difficult to make compound curves with coro, I made some changes in the design so that it is easier to build. The new coro pattern aircraft was named ZEUS as its not the exact copy of the Black Magic. However, to honour the original design, I thought of making the entire plane black in colour. Further, a pitch black coloured plane on air seemed cool for me. Now, for some pictures
Here is a link to the complete build thread of the Zeus pattern aircraft. You can find the video of the maiden flight below.
